Ive been using 3 diodes to set my currents for reds for a long time, at close to full load current the forward voltage drop of the diode(s) increase.

okay, sorry for the wait

ignore the green wire, I didn't realize I didn't need it and haven't removed it yet

nowhere at all, I have a socket that the laser diode will connect to, and I soldered it then thought, and realized it would go to the not used pin, so its just sitting right now waiting for removal or trimming

Looks alright, you may have damaged it with 9V's tho, do you have a spare or tried three diodes on the test load.

I thought it was messed up before the 9, but no I haven't tried my spare, or the three diodes, with it being 4am I don't feel like soldering would be wise

I should, but i'm an insomniac, its not my tiredness preventing me from work, its the fact I live with people still and they'll get angry if I do that again. random question: what time is it where you're at?

3.7V is too high for a red diode, red diodes like to live from 2.5 -3.0V, if your measuring 3.7V across the diode it should be dead.

I have killed Red diodes at 3.0 volts before, even with a well regulated current supply!

If you're using a linear driver, that uses around 1.5v so the forward v to the diode would be around 2.5 if you're using a lithium or around 3v if using 3 primaries

I've used similar drivers as these and used 3AAAs and has been happily running for 2/3 years
