OK, i know there is a similar post, but mine is a little different.

SO. what is stopping me from buying a LAPNGR50 from amazing1.com for 240 bucks and then just swapping out the 808nm diode for a much more powerfull (200-300mW) one? The lenses ect. are there and should be capeable of higher mW and there is an adequate heatsink. it seems like it would require minimal modification. maybe just a driver if the stock one cant be changed?
What do you guys think?

thanks for the input!  ;D

Your green laser is already using a pump diode that is higher powered than the one you're proposing to replace it with. Even some 5mW green laser pointers use 500mW pump diodes. Also, it's usually the crystals inside the lasers that are the real limiting factors, not the pump diode.

You should do some more reading before you break your stuff.
