Not really. there was a thin wire behind it that I PhotoShopped out of the pic. If I had a light that showed up above my head when I had an idea that is what it would look like though

This is incredible! I always wondered if a blu ray laser could be used to lighten GITD BB's in an airsoft gun. But I figured the time neede for blu ray/ bb contact would be too long, meaning that you would have to point the blu ray all the way down the barrel. This has obvious disadvantages of a laser coming out of the end of your barrel. I know some magazines have the LED in them and the rest use LED's in a suppresor. There was a night game held near me over the summer I couldn't go to unfortanately. How do you think one of these would compare to an LED in the barrel. I've heard placing an LED right above the mag wont allow the BB's to fully charge on full auto. How do you think this would work in a gun that shot 25 rps ? My AK shoots about as fast as the one in the video. Thanks Ryan!

PS: Were the BB's hitting something or did you have the hop up all the way on? Or maybe you were using GITD .12's?

The BBs were hitting a sheet I had at the back of what I call the Boom Room. It is a room where anything goes and often does.

Not sure how well it will work at that rate but it is a 110mW running at about 60mA. Not sure what the output would be at that current but it has room to be turned up. A more powerful diode can also be used for the faster rate. Honestly I like the rate of fire. More would mean running out of ammo sooner. No thanks this is fast enough. The sweet thing about where I put the diode is this is where the BB's take a quick stop before being the next round in the chamber. The power is sucked by the motor when it is on so the laser is actually pulsed in the right timing to charge the BB. When a BB is fired the motor is off and the diode is on, charging the next round. Then the motor turns back on to pull back the injector piece. That draws all the power so the BRD is low if not off when the BB is pushed up into the chamber and fires. The cycle starts over again. Obviously the power is not clean DC so the Schottky diode and a 100V 47uf Cap are in constant use.

I love this idea. There's got to be plenty of room for a blue ray diode in my g3 SAS..... > (have an extra PS3 diode now. wondering if the kes-400a diode's blue ray is enough to charge the rounds or not. hmm probably not. it's only what 15-30 mw max power? =/ I guess it's phr then.

I have a few left over 110mW diodes that were $10 or so. Not sure what the sled was. I can harvest the diode and add the lens to it for a total of $15 + 2 shipping if you want one.

The diodes are run at 90mA to get 110 so at 60mA my guess would be that I am getting 60 to 80mW out of the diode.

..its the idea that is genious, not the using of simple tools to actually build it!
would never have expected such an impressive outcome! but sure, GITD glows brightly and drops quick. here you "use" it for splitseconds only (flying), so its bright!

next do a "ligther" for those smoke bombs ect twich uses black powder fuse

Actualy a cheap ten ohm quarter watt resistor works great for lighting things like that. Light pyrotechnic devices remotely.

Uhm ..... more than this, maybe, an airsoft hand-grenade made with 50 or 60 BB soaked in water-based GITD paint ? ..... :eg:

Edit: no, i have to retire my laugh ..... i just realized that the majority of the peoples, probably, don't know enough about how good a resistor can turn in flames a circuit (and other things ), if overheated ..... ah, well
