Default LPM which ones are better for home use?

Im currently using a Laser Power Meter at my bro Uni, and find it abit of a pain having to go there when ever and wait till its free.
Could sombody suggest a good LPM for using at home. wavelength test from 400nm to 800nm or higher. and power from uf to 1W would be ideal. Whats a good but not too exspensive power meter out there on the market nowadays?

Any suggestion would be greatful. thanks

I've got a Andover Holography LPM-1 which works great for testing lasers' power. goes up to 1W and has settings for 473-660nm. you can calculate out for 405nm as well as people have tested the 405 reading using the 473nm setting then testing what the power is on a better power meter that can read 405nm.
can hook it up to my computer to to log the data.

i found it on here for $190, i think that was a really good deal though, you could probably offer 225 or 250 and find one pretty easily.

I think that laserbee's power meter is great. I've used it from 405nm to 780nm and up to 250mW. It's rated to 1000mW and I think goes into the higher wavelengths. Only downside for what your asking is it doesn't measure below 7mW and only goes up in 1mW increments. It only costs around $200 with PC data-logging.

Thanks for the kind words..nvmextc

Actually the 3rd Generation LaserBee I measures from 5mW to 1050mW in
1mW increments without correcting for different wavelengths because it uses
a Thermopile Head.
It can easily test 405nm lasers... *We have tested it to IR.
It has a Peak Detector feature and a PC Interface Data Logging Option.
User Instructions and PC Interface software comes on a CD.

BluRay... you can see it here:-

There are also a few reviews by members here that have purchased one.

i know the Laserbee is a good LPM, but its the price really, $80 for shipping alone, so that would be $209.99 plus $80 total $290.00 shipped convert it into AUD = nearly $600 dollars for me, If the currency was how it was at around 1=0.75 USD i would jump on it at first glance.

Unless Lasersbee you can do me a good price? *although i know that is already good, PM me Jerry and well work somthing out. answer staright away.

So any other LPM worth mentioning about??

Tommy

Hey Tommy... actually... if you go to eBay and don't take the Data Logging Option you can get
the LaserBee I for $159.99US + $64.99US Shipping to Australia. That's only $224.98 US.

There is always the used LPM-1 that "me_too_lazy" is selling... it will still cost you $230.00 US
and it's not a Thermopile sensor LPM... (DGMW... I'm not knocking the LPM-1.. i'ts a good LPM).

yeah, unfortunately in the low price market, your only real options are used meters on ebay/forums, and the laserbee meter - the components used to make the kenometers have been long gone (i was lucky to snag one before they got sold out)
