One thing to note...
For a DDL driver over 400mA's, you want a 1 watt resistor. I have 3 ohm 1 watt resistors, which will give you about 420mA's. I also have 2.7 ohm 1 watt resistors that will give you about 270mA's.
They are very cheap. Here is a U.S. link for the 3 ohm 1 watt resistors:
