hi
i am building my dvd laser project, and its all going well so far.
i have just bought a project box for it to fit into, but i was wondering how i could wire up a LED indicator next to my button, just to let me know the laser unit is on?
i could eaisally wire it up but will it take alot of power away from my ddl driver?
help would be greatly appreciated!
thanks

The laser itself is a good inicator ;D. LED + resistor after the switch, back to GND on the input should work I think.

Then use a 330 ohm resistor in series with the LED and it will take 16ma which is good.

yes make sure you hook the led and resistor up before the driver - not after

Same here, until I started using 1W Luxeons I never saw what whas going on around here. Will use a 3mm indication led on my laser box though, so as not to take away to much power from the batteries.
