Laser diode sidedly isn't working there seems o be something in the diode blocking it

So my new laser was working fine at first, it is a 1W blue laser, but as I was using it all of a sudden it got dim and had this weird circle around the dot. I took out the diode and there seems to be a little piece of something blocking it inside the diode. Any idea what this is and how to fix it? Thanks!
