Hello all (and sorry for my english). unfortunately, my laser is dropped from the third floor of my building! Yes you read right: (a series of unfortunate coincidences managed to roll under the fence to fall disastrously in the yard! This is the Wicked Lasers Spyder 3 Arctik its size and weight have amplified the effects of impact. It 'fell on the back (battery cap) by pressing one of five metal tabs around the power button.
This is the only visible damage that I could fix with a clamp by lifting the tab.
The cap flew off and the battery that was inside was completely crushed.
however, reported no serious external damage, and I honestly thought a lot worse!
I tried to turn it on and it works... but ..my question is ... May have compromised some internal component? May 'have lost power? Unfortunately I do not have a power meter to know .. but it is possible that it happened?

while its possible you could have damaged the laser internally I doubt there anything significant. If so you may as well not worry about it as the laser is working as you say.

Ouch, that's too bad. Maybe the fall turned it into a time machine (good idea for a sci-fi origin story)!

Apparently it works exactly as before!!! ...It 'amazing that it has not damaged the courtyard below .. I suppose from that distance it would take much more than 1000mV :D :D
Seriously .. I thought it was more delicate!

I think that tremendous G-forces which appeared during the impact onto the hard surface caused melting and vaporising diode's internal wires and after resublimation they crystalised near the emitter creating kinda superconductor on its surface. Now you can drive it with full 10A of current and it will output 1kW in CW and TEM00 beam. :)

Seriously I think blue diode lasers are as durable as LED flashlights.

Hello Marco,

We do not sell spare parts but if you tell me what spare parts you need maybe we can help.
Can you send us a photo of the broken part or spare parts that you need?

Best regards,

I apologize for the quality of the images in the first two pictures you can see the rear cap.In the third photo the front lens. A battery is slightly crushed in the collision and I should change that too. Luckily I had bought a lot of batteries. arctic is your artwork and is a real shame to see him in this state.Thank you in advance!

Speaking of Wicked Lasers, did their forums really close due to lack of activity? Seems hard to believe.

while on subject, i had a fucked switch for my arctic and i emailed WL, they sent me out a new tail switch, even tho i didn't purchase the laser off them, (bought it off a member on here) they still sent the switch, im not saying the Arctic is heaps good, but rather, their customer service was surprisingly good.

It seems to me it is like a lottery...

After all these years, I hope they at least get that right.
