I have the laser from a laptop HD DVD drive, but cannot figure out which pin is the positive on it. In the pic the negative is the one in the center on the left, found out with a continuity test. I tried probing the other pins with 3, 4.5, 6, 7.5, and 9v. I would think the center right pin would be my positive, but when probing it, nothing happens. What voltage does it need?

realy bad pic ... cant see s***..

Hey man, try to keep the explicatives to a minimum... it'd really be better if you said "crap" or "can't see much" just so we can try to keep the forum respectable.

As for the drive... not really sure what you have there.  One note, most notebook drives use a miniature laser diode that most likely won't be able to be pressed into an Aixiz module... so it may not be worth it to even use these drives for lasers.

did not realize that that peopel in the internet were so sensetive to words.. I did not flame, i was not cursing AT anyone I was meerly using the expletive as a puncuation mark. based on my reading of the rules of this site, the word SHIT when used in that manner is acceptable.. now had i said "I cant see it you little shit" that would be rude and uncalled for..

Not that any of this really bothers me, I dont realy give a shit...

Listen, I wasn't trying to lecture or argue with you...  I merely was saying that it is more responsible (and mature) to not swear.  And, I'm fine with an exclaimation like "damn!" or something , but using it as a noun (in this case a reference to the picture), it seems excessive.  I can't say that I don't swear myself, but I typically don't do it for the world to see.

Now, this is just my opinion, not the rule of the forum.  I was merely expressing my opinion.  So please don't go off on a rant or something.

If you feel you need to talk like this in a public place, then continue, I'm not going to do anything to stop you.

Sorry to morphiasx for the off-topicness

lets chalk it up to differences in personal speach (typing) patterns and not worry about it...

Well, In my opinion, shit was a bit over-the-top for that purpose there. If you're ranting or trying to make a STRONG point, then go ahead, and swear all you want. But don't overuse it.
