Kryton issues

So I'm having issues with 2 of my classic Krytons. I'm not sure if it's climate related, but it's baffling me.

I have 2 Krytons in particular that are acting up. The heads on them don't screw on all the way anymore. In Colorado, this was never an issue. Though out here, it happens to any of the old Krytons I get my hands on. It's like they're cursed. It's actually affecting a Kryton I had for sale, but I can't sell it with a quarter inch gap.. Pictures here:

Are you sure you didn't swap them end for end?

Secondary, try cleaning up the threads and lubricating them

They are on the right end, I don't have any lubricrant, but I've tried running some fabric through the threads to try to catch whatever debris.

I can get some lubricant for them.

Tempted to throw a laser out of my window... Chapstick didn't do anything, and now it's happening to my MS-SSW. Same issue, out of the blue it just doesn't screw back together.

You do have them on the right unit maybe accidentally put one cap on the other unit?
