How to connect this voltage regulator ?

Hey,

I got a 6V constant voltage regulator today for something, and I'm not sure how to connect it. It's the standard T0220 type package.

So what pins should I connect it up to ?

Here's the diagram for the 7805 regulator, I'm pretty sure its the same for yours. Do you have any datasheet?

Nope, I guessed it would be the same as the 7805, thats a 5V constant regulator isn't it ?

So the pin that is input is the one to the left if you look at the regulator from the front then ?

Yeah it's the same

Mines is the 7806 the last two digits give you the voltage !

thats the 7812 , so I'll use that drawing

From left to right, front view:

Pin 1: in,

pin 2: com (gnd),

pin 3: out


Doesn't it say say something like "7806" on it?

Got it working , tested it with my PSU , just waiting for the battery to charge, I'll post pictures in a bit [smiley=thumbsup.gif] .
