So I shelled out 100 dollars for a 100mw purple (405nm) wicked laser nano. i received it, put in the battaries, and it just didn't even work! the emission indicator didn't light and no laser came out. Can any of you help me fix it? is there anyway i could fix it? can i take it to some repair shop? please help! I am a new user and I am new to lasers, this is my first post.

I know I shouldn't have purchased from WL but I didn't know better at the time, I was a n00b and i still kinda am hopefully someone can help! I tried replacing the batts, I am trying to get to the circuit but everything is completely encased in aluminum so i have no idea on how to repair it myself. I took out the button and I can see a bit of the circuit but, I really can't take anything out. Also I am really confused by the complicated "FDA compliant endcap".

Contact WL and.tell them its broken. They should replace it. No need to break into it yet.

yet another highly satisfied WL customer to add to the list

sorry to hear about your troubles but hopefully they can fix the problem. if anything id ask for your money back. invest your money in quality goods, like those made by members here.

EDIT: sounds like it might be user error if nothing comes on and the tailcap is confusing you. post a video of what you are doing and it might just be something dumb your over looking, never know and it wouldnt be the first time something like that happened so dont be embarrassed if this is the case

I'm wondering why you're coming here to seek help rather than getting on WL's case for sending you a DOA laser. Are you also new to buying anything in general?

WL has been terrible in the past, but they aren't so terrible that they won't fix a DOA laser.

the Jeice lady at WL just said she would send a new one. well that is a relief!!! but i kinda want to be able to use it in the meantime because WL has the slowest shipping known to man, or maybe utilize resources and/or learn more about my laser through the process of an attempt to fix it. :p You guys have done enough but any thoughts on how i could take it apart? and if i cant fix it i would like to use the components for maybe a future project.

Steps to taking apart a WL product:
  • stand in front of hard wall (brick, concrete, etc...)
  • grab laser firmly in hand
  • pull arm behind your head
  • QUICKLY thrust your arm forward
  • When arm is full extended, release laser
  • watch laser smash into wall and explode
  • LASER OPENED!!!

EDIT: you could always sell this laser as a host or project kit for someone here to build

Are you certain you haven't inserted the cells backwards? If so, do you have a multimeter?

as far as my previous comment about how to take it apart, as you can probably tell i have no idea. ive never seen the inside of the nano but if i were you. id wait until the replacement came before opening the broken one up.

if once you get the replacement, you want to take it apart, then post some pictures and we will help you figure it out
