[Help] Should i buy this laser?

Hello everyone, recently i spotted this mW 200 Green Laser Pen from eBay singapore for $159

The seller told me that it can't burn things because it's IR filtered
And he recommend me to buy a $249 for burning
Do you think i should buy it? Because i'm looking for a dealer only in Singapore

3 things.

1. That doesnt look like a true 200mw unit, but i could be wrong. i would only expect 130 ish out of it.
2. IR filter will not prevent it from burning stuff. from what i have read, any 70mw + green filtered or unfiltered has potential to burn.
3. Dont buy the $249 one. he is just trying to milk money out of you.

If you are going to spend ~$160, i would just look through the classifieds on here.
There are a few 150-200mw green pointers floating around that are excellent quality.

Or send a pm to one of the builders on here. The quality of their builds supersedes the quality of the e-gay pointers ten-fold.

In the end, it is you who is spending the money. Just do some research on what you are buying.

Thanks, but i'm trying to only find dealer here in Singapore as i'm only 17, i don't have a Paypal account which requires me to be at least 18 and a credit card

The only way for me to get a good green colored burning laser is through local bank transfer or meet up payment

My budget is below SGD $200, do you have any recommendation?

Hmm, that does make it kind of difficult.
i know o-like and rayfoss you can use like western union or whatever they use.

o-like and rayfoss are both down, for whatever reason.

those ebay lasers are crap totally. there is no way a cheap little pen like that could make more than 100mW and thats really pushing it. pen lasers can output what you want 200mW fairly easy but its going to have to be quality product $300 or more and trust me the guy you are talking to can not get one. as far as burning goes as said above ir filter wont reduce burning at all. pumping an ir diode through the crystal does reduce mW somewhat but it should be rated after its pumped through. id recomend you wait til your 18 and get pp then browse the buy sell trade section. there are many ppl here that could make you a laser alot better than anything ull find on ebay
