Hi, I recently purchased a laser diode and driver for a 445nm 150mw laser from laserdiy.com and I am having trouble wiring everything together. I have a 3V battery hooked up to a switch and I soldered wires to the positive and negative pins on the diode, but I have no idea how to connect the battery and diode to the driver. No instructions or diagrams came with the driver and it doesn't have a spring on it like I am used to. Thanks, here are some pictures to help you understand what I have:

If I were that 445 diode, for sure I'll be scared. Don't even try to switch on that circuit, but I guess you are here because you have just done it.

I have no idea what driver it is, but it seems a boost driver. A macro pic will help on this.
If you don't want to risk the diode, please use instead a test load, or just a ampmeter. Dont switch on the diode/circuit without having the diode in a proper casing like an aixiz module with some heatsinking. Turning on a hig power diode like this that way you show almost guarantee you will blow it. Remember, be patient. Lasers and patience are great friends.

You purchased that from laserdiy, i'm sorry to hear that.

As magonegro said, that diode will do nothing but put out unfocused light and burn out under its own heat production unless you install it in a module.

There is already a switch on the driver so i don't know what the other switch in your last pic is for, unless you plan to bypasss the one on your driver.

Are you sure the driver didn't come with some sort of connection layout? Perhaps their is a pic with the layout of its connections on the web page you ordered it from.

Hi, I was going to put it into a module once I knew it was working, but I have been able to get absolutely no light or signal out of it at all. And the extra switch is just easier to press. However, no, the driver came with no connection layout which is really annoying and my many emails to laserdiy have been unreturned...they have awful customer service. I really have no idea what to do about this and I was just wondering if anyone else knew how to connect this driver, but I'll try and upload a macro shot of it soon.
