help making a laser please ! :)

so i want to make a laser, i had bought an sdlaser 303 ages ago and was using it fine until the green light turned red and now its fucked, really really dull light cant see untill look into barrel of laser (i know its bad) and now im going to try building a laser

this is what i have and im wondering if i could make a laser from it and what else i would need to get it working!!!

a sdlasers 303 shell and dead diode.
2 dvd rw drives with class 3b laser diodes
2 18650 battery's (used for the sdlaser 303)

Hi,
Ok first where are you from?? Second how about an introduction of your self. And Three watch your manners with your language . If you have a bad mouth keep it home.
Now with all that said try using the search bar on the bottom Its a greatly to start here and as stated all of the above. Welcome MXCY there are stickies to help you get around READ them don't be lazy...

im from uk, whats wrong with manners?
and i know there are stickies but they arent for making laser pens from what i can see

You may want to first look at the "So I want to build a Laser" thread. There's enough information there to get you off in the in the right direction

NEVER look directly into the aperture of a laser. That red light you see is from the infra-red pump diode that is used to create the green light. It's not visible to the naked eye (All you'll ever see is a dull red glow) but it could potentially be putting out nearly half a watt of light, more than enough to permanently blind you.

Sounds like you should read through some of the stickies in the "Rules & Stickies", "Welcome" and "General" sections before attempting to build a laser.

The help is available in the stickies I mentioned. Do some reading first and you'll have a better understanding of what is involved in building a laser. That way you'll be able to ask more specific questions and people will be more inclined to help. Posting an introduction thread in the "Welcome" section is always nice too.

I seriously advise against buying such a powerful laser if you have no experience with lasers at those kind of power levels. They are an extreme danger to the eyes and even skin/property. Start small and work your way up.

A nomination for a Darwin Award is in order. Good thing guns aren't legal in UK. Looks like you have a lot of research to do before you try to make another Laser.
If you are into the pen style lasers Pman is your go to guy for pen builds. You need to have some basic soldering skills, some knowledge of electricity, Ohm's law. You could save the driver and get a new module fore it

Where are you from as that can determine if certain things can be sent to you or not.
Please poke around and see all the great stuff in the world of lasers. Be sure to use the white search bar at the bottom of the page as there is a wealth of information to see here. Remember to get proper safety laser goggles for the wavelength of your laser if it is over 5mW. Enjoy, have fun and most importantly be safe.

well my first laser was 1mw then 5mw hehehe you like to jump in 2W way to fast, i still have a 1mW laser :cryyy:
