Hello everyone, Im a new member here on the forum and have learned a ton in just a few hours of searching. I have a project Im working on that you all may be able to help me with. Basically, Im looking to project an image ( in my case any single letter of the alphabet ) on a flat surface/wall. Im working with a distance of about 2 to 3 feet, from pointer to surface. Also the image needs to be 3 to 4 inches tall on surface. Im trying to design a device/pointer that can project a clear sharp image. I have came close with the interchangeable tips you get with your basic keychain pointer kits. Im looking for red images now as colors can be an option later.

Is there any "tips" I can purchase that can give me each letter of the alphabet? I have the basic assortment kit with arrows, stars and such. The next issue is the distance and size of image I need. Any ideas will be great, I will post pics as I construct my project. Thanks, Jason

Hi Jason.

I wish I could be more helpful, I just wanted to say Welcome to the group.

Good luck searching for tips, Most of us here use moving mirrors, but that's expensive and complex.

Aside from the basic tips I see packed with key chain pointers, I cannot recall seeing any "custom" tips with the alphabet.

Thanks for the reply. I have seen "laser projection scanners" that project a logo/image on a surface. Im sure there computer controlled. How can I find more information on that?

Welcome to the forum! May I ask what you'd be using this for? Laser scanners can be quite an expensive endeavor, be it DIY or store bought. I looked around to see if I could find you "caps" that project the alphabet but I found nothing. You would think that someone would make them *sigh*. I'll do some more searching and see if I can find anything for you.

Chris,

Thank you for your time searching. Im working on an advertising display project. Im trying to design a source to project a image consisting of letters on a surface. The letters need to be separate to make up random words. The image will be fixed with no motion or scrolling. My thoughts was to have a laser pen for each letter.

The motorized laser machine programmed by computer was an idea.

You can buy laser modules that project a line pretty cheap, enough lines make a letter.
