Thats a 650nm diode in there which outputs ONLY 650nm+/- a few nm. No IR, that's from green lasers that use a IR diode and crystals to change it into green(DPSS), and some of the IR leaks and thats why greens have IR but diode lasers such as this will never have IR unless it's an IR diode.:)

**EDIT** So no IR filter needed...

I am buying a IR diode so should i be concerned?

I would suggest you start with a visible laser if this is your first, because IR can be dangerous because you can't see were it's going and may be hitting yourself or others in the eye unintentionally.

Im going to have a secondary 5mw laser mounted exacly on top of it to give me an estimate of where it will be... Besides that, Any other concerns
