I have a buddy who brought his dominator to show me, But he cant get it to focus on a small beam..

He had it going last night, said he turned the top, it became unfocused, and now he cannot get it to refocus....

Is their some kind of trick to this thing??

Spinning the copper does nothing

Sounds like the threads on the lens holder binded in the module and got loose on the focus ring. Unscrew the focus ring completely and see what's going on.

So if you take off the lens, your talking about the piece IN the housing, if that's the case, which it may be as he said he did screw it tight, whats the best way to loosen this??

Its pretty tight and doesn't want to move

If you already have the copper focus ring off you'll see the brass lens holder. If it's stuck there should be two notches in the top of the brass where you can use a screwdriver or the back end of a razor blade to unscrew it. Just be careful not to damage the threads.

The lens holder comes out with no problem, I thought it was the piece the lense holder screws into

should the lens be nice and tight inside the holder itself

Yes, it should be nice n snug, if not you'll need to tighten the brass ring inside the lens holder.

If the copper focus ring is facing down and the lens holder is going into it, should the notches be UP, or DOWN

Notches go into the focus ring, and don't quadruple post, just edit the first post next time.
