Exclamation Help with building 1w 445nm handheld

Hello. So I am wanting to build a 1w blue handheld laser.
I will be getting all the parts off ebay.
I think I am looking at all the right parts... and the build should go well if I use these... but I was just hoping some professionals could help this non-professional decide whether these are the right components and parts or not.

If I use all of these parts, will my build be successful?
Am I missing anything?
Do you suggest anything better or different?

I just want to make sure that all this spent money doesnt go wasted.
It would also be awesome if someone could tell me what my results would likely be if I finished this build (i.e. burning power, durability etc...)

Here are the links to the parts:

-Project box

-Battery

-Battery Charger

-Laser diode (with lens)

-12mm Laser Module

-Laser driver

-Heat sink (I will be attaching this to a larger winged heat sink I already have)

Thanks alot! Any help is grately appreciated.

Please keep in mind that I am no where near a professional with this. I do have experience with electronics, but not with lasers... not to mention I'm only 17, so I might not understand some terms and such...

(I know I need glasses aswell. dont mention that)

I would suggest that you do a little reading on the Forum first.
Read the FAQs the stickies and the Tutorials.
After you have read those you will be able to answers a lot
of your questions.

I would also suggest that you buy your parts from reputable
members in the But/Sell/Trade sections of the Forum...

The best way to have people on a Forum to comment on
something is to tell them not to....

Don't forget to get appropriate Laser Safety Googles/Glasses
for your High Output Laser build...

I wish I could research up on lasers and parts alot more. But I have a deadline of when I need to have this done right now. For now, I just need a laser... later i'll be doing alot more of the research behind them. I just need a few answers so i know 100% that this will work

Hmm.. none of the links work for me, but from that list, there are some things that you missed.
(other then the obvious of basic tools, wire, solder, etc)

- You will need a collimating lens, (Fit into a container with M9X0.5 thread, that will screw into the top of the diode module, aixiz, o-like, etc make these modules, exept Aixiz's is 12mm, not bieng able to see your links, I don't know what you have there) the original lens that comes with the diode is pretty useless. This is to properly "focus" the output of your laser diode, as without it you will just get a coherent flood of light without the laser beam appearance so to say.

Advantage with these lenses is that they come in housings like the link below, so it makes your life quite easy if you need to focus the laser.. be it to create a small focal to burn things, or to achive that classic laser beam.

These are the types I refer to: 405nm laser /445nm laser collimation lens/glasses lens [OLBLE] - $8.00 : Welcome to O-Like.com, Your source for laser products

Or you can get aixiz's version of these lenses, the optics are the same, but aixiz is has a fully threaded housing, so it might be easier to focus as it will fit into thier focus adapters.

Whatever lens comes with the 12mm module, and they are typically acrylic, do not use them. Any laser over 300mw or so will start to melt an acrylic lens, and eventually either ruining the lens, or your diode. For this diode, you need a glass lens, and AR coating is a bonus with these.

Other then that, I think thats a basic parts list there, if the links worked, it would be helpfull.

i fixed the links. the 1w diode comes with a glass lens. will this work?

Yep, that lens is useless. Also, go find a guy named DTR here. I don't know where you are, but if you are in the states, you can get yourself a diode for ~40$-45$ instead of
55$... put that extra 10$ into the lenses I mentioned in post #4.
