Hello,
i have here a 16x sony dvd burner diode in a axis module and a Surface Mount FULL RANGE ADJUSTABLE Laser Driver pre-assembled from stonetek
what i must do now ?

tillate, you say it's adjustable....Did it come pre-set? or must you set the current yourself?

what are the min. max. currents for the driver?

If you've got to set it yourself i recommend heading over to rkcstr.nfshost.com and buying a test load. Also make sure you have a digital multimeter. You'll need these two things to set the current output on the driver.

oh lol i just went and looked at what you bought. I apologize.

the site i refered you to will be the direct source of your driver, and if you got the one in stonetek's picture....it's a very old version (2 gen. ago)

But none the less, you still need to set the current. So you need to get the test load.

Future reference: everything on stonetek's site is over priced.
He's just buying items for the same price they are already available to the general public for, and bumping it up.


Once you've got the test load, refer to my tutorial on setting a flex drives current.
It's the same concept, just uses a different driver.
