Continuing on with Moh's work! Here is how I harvest my 6x SF-AW210 diodes!

BTW at the end I'm pulling the two sides away from each other then I slightly twist it and snaps right off! Also remember to do this over some soft material like a scrunched shirt, so you don't drop the diode on the floor :D

Nice video. but the SF-AW210 isn't a 6x blu ray laser diode.

Awesome bob! i get my SF diodes from modwerx so they come already harvested :(

i've got the videos for the GGW's BR and red diodes...just need to edit them all together...hardest part with those is getting them out of the damn sled!

Last time I harvested a LD, I filed down two slots in the heatsink, and then pulled both apart with two pairs of pincers. Suddenly two pieces of metal flew away, and in one pair of pincers I was left with an undamaged , and extracted LD.

I was lucky.

With a pair of nippers and a pair of small needle nose pliers, they pop out in seconds. The nippers then allow you to remove the diodes from their heat sinks in seconds also.

Peace,

^That part.

ok.. Im thinking of doin a 6x...even though my PHR hasnt even arrived...and i dunno if to pick a ggw and go for insurance, or go to aw210 and take the risk...
i could even get a freak...but...for now ill stick to my PHR...waiting for it to arrive (damnit...its taking toooo long...i want it sooo badly!)

BTW what optics do the sf-aw210 sleds have?? do they have the dichros like the PHR and a PBS cube??

and what does DT means?

I don't see any shorting pins in the vid, I think with static electricity sensitive diodes it's best to put a jumper over the two power pins when not connected to anything. I don't know how much this makes a difference, but I do it anyway just to be sure.

Found out DT means Diode Thread...i guess...as i saw u say in a review "Add this to RT", i suppose it was for review thread...
