Hiya all, back again with more lathe questions.
7" x 12" Precision Mini Lathe
8" x 12" Precision Benchtop Lathe
Well, I was thinking about the 7" x 12", since the 8" x 12" was 200 dollars more...I figured, 1 inch..eh..Must be something. Looking at the weight, its like 90 pounds vs 258 pounds. CLEARLY there's a difference.
I've been told the heavier unit would be nicer because the weight will make vibrations go away, which is good for lathe work.
Is there ANYONE here that is fimilar with either unit? If so...
* How good are these, do they seem to work precision, getting the job done?
* Would you recommend one over the other?
* Do you think they make good for making laser hosts?
* Do they come made? or is it a 'haha you get to build it all'
* possible review on one, if you own it?
* Can they fit 1" diameter dowels?
I plan to use them for many projects, but i wanted to try to make my own laser host. I also plan to make an electrothermal gun using my lathe also. So, please let me know if you can answer any questions!
