Hi, i'm new here and want to introduce myself. I am Chris, aged 26 and live in the Netherlands, a country where this custom laser stuff is highly forbidden, but i don't care, i like it and must say i am highly impressed of the things i see here on this forum, respect.

Honestly i didn't know this was possible, but seeing this devices: IT'S A MUST HAVE!! :gj: i think almost nobody in Holland have such a pointer, such a shame.. :yabbem:

so, here is the deal, ive spotted a lot of stuff that comes with a good laser burning pointer, like type flashlight, drivers, heatsinks and so on, but i have problems finding the right set of items to make a good working laser.

I do like the MXDL made by DTR combined with at least a 1000mW blue laser, but then again i see a lot of parts and don't know what to pick.

i have a different flashlight and also made a custom heatsink, but it comes with 3 AAA's, and don't have enough space for the driver.

So an option is a bigger flashlight like the MXDL or the Aurora Cree 18650, lots of space where all the parts fit in. looks nice i must say :yh:

Hope u guys can help me out here.

my question is: are there complete kits to make such an awesome laserpointer?

And what are the costs of a complete set?

Thanks in advance for your help, and sorry for my bad text if there are faults in it.

Greetingz Chris

you might also try heating up the glue with the tip of a soldering iron. I haven't tried it yet, but a lot of 5 minute epoxies will get soft and brittle when super heated.

I'm pretty sure there's no law about lasers in the Netherlands. Soem people have claimed there's a law, but none of them actually have any evidence. But if you can dig up the wetboekartikel, be my guess.

En welkom op het forum!

I don't collect pointers, I do have huge argon lasers. There are some dutch members around, so there are definately people with those pointers.

There are kits for sale around here, but it's not that hard to collect the parts yourself. You could look op threads of people that finished a build and copy the parts list or look at the guides and tutorials available.

Worthy Bump! Some very good take-aways and tips. The comic relief is hilarious!
