first lazer, need help :o

Right, im completely new to this website so firstly, hello

i have very little knowledge of lazers and its been on my list of "things to make" for a while. my soldering skills are not too bad and im not *too* bad with wiring things up/dismantling.

id like to make this as low budget as possible, i dont want some super burning lazer, just a simple one. i have 2 PC's both with CD/DVD drives, a DVD player and a few torches (both LED and bulb) at my disposal that i can dismantle.

im new to lazer building so please, cut down on the technical jargan
