eye exposed to 30mw

Iwas holding it and watching my self in the mirror and accidentally I pressed in and it flashed on my eye for like 1 sec and after they there were a little blind spot and my right eye is totally itchy and getting a headache to still after two hours its itchy and when it flashed I looked at it an took my head of and it it was a sec or two please help
It was a 30mw green laser pointer

But yes, Alex is correct - go see an eye doctor. It's like cutting off a finger with a power tool and then going to a forum about power tools and asking what you should do. :horse:

Every time I read one of these, especially if it's a first post, I always think there are some people that just shouldn't be allowed to handle a laser or anything else that's dangerous.

Any laser over 5mW is too powerful for your blink reflex to save you and can do damage. I have heard of someone taking a direct hit in the eye with a 40mW without permanent damage however at that power there would usually be permanent damage.

532nm green lasers also put out IR and the cheap ones never have an IR filter, so they are even more powerful than you think. The worst that will happen is you will have a permanent dark spot in your vision, in the best case your eye will be back to normal very quick.

Go see a doctor and tell them you got a direct hit in the eye with a 30mW green laser, your regular doctor can refer you to an ophthalmologist or you can see an optometrist and they can tell if there's damage and can refer you to an ophthalmologist.

Iwas not holding it in my bathroom it was my moms dressing table and I went to a doctor they checked my eye evryting is fine no retnia damage just it aggregated my previous allergy they prescribed me few eye drops and my eye is just fine

That is great news.
Now do you see why members here on this forum aggressively push using laser goggles for all lasers over 5mW!!
A direct or shiny surface reflected beam shot to the eyes even with laser goggles on is never a good thing but at least the goggles give you that split second help until your blink reflex kicks in or you turn your head or move the laser.
Sure there are instances when you are safely able to use a laser and not use safety goggles but in side a room there are just too many reflective items/surfaces.
Bottom line is please wear your laser safety goggles
