Default Eudaimoniums Correction amplifier board [ Picz + download]

Hello people,

I have recently made a small correction amplifier board for powering a pair of galvos, and three laser heads (also Intensity setting implemented),

It uses TL082 Op-amps , Small SMD single turn trimmers and it has a D-sub 25 connector place.

However, you should have external +/- 12V and -5V Supply (along with GND ofcourse), as I have not implemented any DC-DC converter for the sake of simplicity.
Computer PSUs with 20pin MBO connectors have all needed rails (that's what I'll use).

It has + and - output for galvo signals (one inverted, other noninverted, greater potential achieved. Why is this not implemented in Galvo's amplifier boards already, I am not sure.)

Here are some picz of mine.
Please excuse the mess I made, I wanted to spray it with acrylic laquer to protect it, only to find out that the spray can I was holding was not clear laquer (after pressing the button, that is).
So I had to resort to coat all copper into solder to prevent corrosion.

RAR file containing BRD, SCH and PDF file is available to download here.

It was made with Eagle 5.10.0 .

I also have versions without dual output for galvos, and without text except my name up there.

You are free to use , modify, remodify, do whatever you want with the boards and schematics. I only ask that my name is up there. If it's crucial for space saving boards, you can omit it. Does not matter to me.

If needed , I can remake the board to use different potenciometers (as the seller of these I used no longer sells them ), use Through hole components, or whatever else is needed. Just shoot me a PM and I'll rework it for you if you are not able to or don't have Eagle software.

Thanks for reading, everybody!

P.S - Edit , here is where I purchased my opamps:

The last picture is too big, and is drawing the text to the right side, off screen.

Why didnt you just etch another board, instead of spending all that time soldering the whole board?

Last pic deleted, will resize and upload later.

Why etch another board ? Nothign wrong with etching of this one, it's just that I do not have that uhh, how do you call it, antioxidizing agent,

A professor at my previous school showed me that once, looks like deep reddish (possibly a tone of brown) solution, little more dense than water, applies with a fine brush to the copper, so it prevents it from rusting. Also you can solder on it no problem.

Any of that stuff on ebay? I don't know what's it called.

It would appear so:
Quote:
VAPPRO 900 quickly seals, insulates, waterproofs and protects electrical motors, Printed Circuit Boards and electronic components.
The color on the pictures also exactly matches the stuff I've seen.

Description also perfectly fitting. Very nice find, thanks TJ!

Now, where to buy the stuff?

EDIT:
http://www.corrosionvci.com/corrosio...-900Electronic
Uhh, never mind that

Any other stuff like that, same purpose, cheaper, preferably can be done yourself ?

See edit, yes I did.

$150 for a spray bottle. Ouch!

I think I'll go with clear acrylic spray for now, until I find something resembling that stuff on ebay or other sites.

Nice job on the PCB...

Thank you.

They are exactly 1000 pixels wide. Do you want me to decrease them down to maybe 800 ?

What's your screen resolution?

I will resize them soon.

I stumbled apon this site in mean time (yes, once I get stuck to something, I sure ain't letting it go):
PCB "Fab-In-A-Box" ... The 8min circuit board system

Now, that green coat you say, appears epic, because not only it looks good, protects from corrosion, it also contains flux and can be soldered on!

EPIC!

I will now go to delete images in OP, and resize and reupload them.

EDIT - Okay where to buy this Green Coat stuff?
Green coat results on Ebay, as to be expected, have apsolutely nothing in relation to electronics...

Yeah but if I got it right, it takes very long time to dry (where your green coat takes 5 minutes, correct?), and it's very thick layer. And it's not green.

I will email them right away.

EDIT- And oh yeah, I fixed them pictures for you!

Default Re: Eudaimoniums Correction amplifier board [ Picz + download]

I use the "liquid tin" solution by MG chemicals, it deposits a nice, even coat of metallic tin on the copper traces, all is needed is to wash off the board with a bit of hot soapy water and you're done! As a bonus, the tin really helps when you're soldering, but the bad side is that the solder creeps on the traces a bit and the final soldered result might be aesthetically iffy. My "solder mask" technique was to use spray enamel paint and protect the solder pads with little adhesive paper circles that I made using a punch. Time consuming but makes a nifty-looking PCB.

BTW Eud, thanks for the great work. Looks like an interesting winter project!

- Robert

My "solder mask" technique was to use spray enamel paint and protect the solder pads with little adhesive paper circles that I made using a punch. Time consuming but makes a nifty-looking PCB.

BTW Eud, thanks for the great work. Looks like an interesting winter project!

Well, read this reply I got from the GreenCoat company there:

Dear Mr Jakupec,
thanks for your e-mail.
Our minium order quantity for export is 100 Euro.
With just one tin/bottle of greencoat (10 Euro) you will not reach that. But maybe you need some other products ??
The password for the price list on our website

Our catalog 2010 is now available on our website: http://www.bungard.de/downloads/bung...talog_2010.pdf
and soon available with brand new and improved videos on DVD.

We also published the video films in our website.

For detailed and optimized offers, please give us a detailed listing of your needs AND YOUR FULL ADDRESS DETAILS.

Looking forward to doing business with you
I don't remember actually saying my last name "Jakupec" somewhere, I guess he found it out in my email profile or something.

Anyhow, I am not ready to make 100€ purchase , now I gotta disappoint the guy.

I guess I'll just go with liquid tin. Or go back to that professor and steal his stuff. I'll most likely be that first one

I do not exactly much care about perfect aesthetics, so this liquid tin stuff would be perfect. If I could just find it somewhere to buy in small quanitities instead of bulk.

Hold on there was also that stuff I once glimpsed on ebay, perhaps I can dig it out again.

EDIT -
This:
http://cgi.ebay.com/Epoxy-Protect-PC...item2eafea1f4d

Unfortunately data about this stuff is either unknown or written in Chinese. To me, basically the same thing.
I wonder how well would that be worth the money.

Hey Eud....

Use "conformal coating" as a search tern on eBay...
I got a few hits and this item maybe the cheapest
solution for small quantities of PCBs....

Chemtronics Conformal Coating Overcoat Pen CW3300G x1 - eBay (item 330474956783 end time Oct-19-10 20:38:19 PDT)
