So I got a host that has a momentary switch, my issue is, there is only one wire(black) coming out of the host, and the red one seems to be connected to the barrel the switch is in. What do I need to do with the red wire I have connected to the driver already. Thanks.

You need to give more info.
The housing is often part of the battery supply circuit to power your driver by way of the tail cap switch.
However where as many direct diodes are case neutral, a DPSS green module is case positive.
If you are taking one kind out and putting the other kind in then the wire color matters not, you will use your diodes case pin and put your batteries in the other way, However give us more info before you do anything.

It has a clicky in the back, and a momentary on the side. Ehgemus made it, on the previous one I got from him, it had both wires coming out the front. The red one is wired in. I got the 465nm from dtr and I can't get to the case pin, it's in a module.

If your diode is case neutral like the 07E then you power your driver through your case switch as negative with batteries put in positive towards the front and your spring board is the positive to your driver.

You are switching the battery ground to the case to complete the circuit.

I would expect the tail clicky and side momentary are in series but the tail could switch ground and the momentary could switch the positive from the spring board.
Now as I do not have a Ehgemus build and you can't look inside at it and see the circuit you should PM Ehgemus and ask to be sure.

You may have had a diode in there like a M-140 with a case pin, if so you need a ground lug, but ask Ehgemus, you can PM him.

I am running the 07E. I saw a diagram of the case natural and such, I'll jump back to that and see if I can figure it out.
I haven't had much of a response from him, usually takes a couple days.
Edit. So in the case negative diagram, it shows no black (neg/gnd) pin connected to the driver. Can I assume it will be OK to just connect the red positive and not blow out a 200$ diode/driver?

so I connected the black wire coming out to the black wire on driver, nothing happened. Any insight?

Don't blow your diode unless you like wasting money.
Do you have a basic multi meter?
Do you know how to check continuity?
Your tail cap most likely closes the case connection, but your momentary may well close your spring board connection.
That is one switch neg and one pos.
If you don't know how to check continuity of the wiring then I would not blow up my expensive diode.
Can you unscrew the host and see how it's wired?
If you are unsure then just wait, you waited to earn the money, you waited for the diode to arrive, don't blow it up now.
Do you have any pics of the host and it's innards?

I just left my work space, but I have all those there. The host doesn't come apart all the way so I cant see the wiring except for the black one sticking out and the red wire that appears to be connecting to the positive end of the battery and looping over to the momentary which I'm assuming is the positive and is why im not getting power

Hi,
Can you post some pics of you host and the leads that would help. Or PM harold he made the host. but pics tell a lot

Thanks. I'm still waiting back on him.
Sorry for the potato, but seems to serve it's purpose.
