are there any tuts on diy laser drivers im just trying to use up these low powered ld's i have laying around and dont wana spend 400$ on 16 drivers for them lol

also how can i estimate the max power for my ld w/o burning it out? again just throwing ld's into low powered lasers for fun

Yes.... there are.... such as the  DIY Drivers like the DDL circuit....
All you need to do is use the Search Button and read the Stickies..
and in no time at all... you will be able to build your own Drivers... :cool:

As for LD power you will need to search that info for your particular
Laser Diode type.. :cool:

hey i did try a search earlier b4 i posted for diy driver but only like 3 things came up i guess i spelled something wrong either way thanks ....

check the stickies in the experiments and modifications board, there's one there called **THREADS OF INTEREST** or one called FAQ READ THIS BEFORE POSTING, both of which have links to diy drivers.

I wonder if there's any way of making these things more obvious... maybe we can ask c0ld to put the stickies titles in 72 point bold red text...

I think we should make the stickies occupy the entire first page of the Tutorials forum so that the actual "forum" area is hidden away from direct view on the second page. Just to be sure, we should also use pseudolobster's idea of using 72pt red text too.

ok now i feel like a complete looser when i did my previous searches i didnt notice the "This post was made in the last..." so i guess it was left as one week which is why my results where so little .... yes im guilty of not looking at the stickies and im sorry for that. again sorry for w8sting every ones time. :'(

also thanks laserbee for the answer to my 2nd part of my question. hopefully i never make a mistake like this again :-X
