Question Disassemble Wicked Lasers E2 host

So the other day I bought a defective WL e2 of ebay. Surprisingly it worked, but with a very low output. I was planning on taking it apart and building my own laser into it. Problem is, I can't figure out how to take it apart.

It looks like I might just be able to pull the battery tube off the module area, but I'm not sure on that. Has anybody disassembled this host before?

Thank you in advance

I can tell you in advance, it will not be easy.

EDIT: i stand corrected. though it may be difficult to re-install a new module w/ spring and button in the same place.

Double post. Forgive me.

This weekend I'll be posting a tutorial on how to put together a nice high power module for this host.

Here is a short video explaining how to disassemble it:

Forgive the zombie thread, I borked my E2 but good by leaving some batteries in and causing some corrosion. Looking to take everything apart to try to salvage things. It's already broken, so no problem in just digging right in! The video link is dead so if someone knows the secrets to taking it apart I'd be grateful.

No such luck with my E2.

Anyone know how else it might come apart? I fear it's beyond saving at this point with the shock forces I've put on it.
If I can't do it myself does anyone know of a shop that could repair it?

I have taken apart maybe 25 Nano's. Don't know if it works the same with E2's but a take a rod and "pop" them from the bottom and everything pops out the top. Hope it helps.

Tried this as well, even tried warming things up with a heat gun. No joy, not even any movement from the front side when trying.

One of my favorite methods for extracting modules is to remove any optics from the aperture then use scrap parts with the same threads to attach to the module, giving me some material to grab onto and pull the module out.
Laser modules often share similar threads with some others (same manufacturers, design rip-offs, who knows) so once the optics are removed, I'll find some brass tube from a different module that matches the internal or external threads of the module in the host, screw that in, then grip it with a vice and pull.

This also works with the Aixiz-style modules. A brass lens housing will allow you to connect two diode modules face-to-face, so to speak. I use this for removing modules I press into Leadlight hosts in case adjustments are necessary. It works every time.

Hopefully this helps. If words aren't clear enough, I can make a quick sketch or something later.

I don't see how to get around the optics. I tried getting a very small drive head in between the body and the optics but it wouldn't move, even after I tried warming it up with the heat gun. So not sure how to proceed. Also, don't have any spare parts as my only lasers are this and an old Arctic

Where is the cap that screws on the end of your E2?
Looks like you are missing the piece RA uses to leverage out the module in the video.
