Diode pin connectors?

I was thinking about the final assembly of the Kryton Groove and 445nm A140 diode I'll be doing soon, and about soldering leads from the driver to the diode.

Aren't there any slip-on connectors in the electronics supply places that you can solder the wire to, then slide over the diode pin? That would avoid any heat risk to the diode whatsoever. It would make diode swap-out easy too should it die etc.

Is a direct solder connection that much better that you'd lose significant amperage with the molex pins? I was told that breadboarding a test load for my driver would cause enough current loss that I'd get inaccurate readings over just soldering everything together. Although I'd imagine that's compounded through all the jumps and connections that would happen.

What about with a diode where there's just two pins?

The problem with a quick style connector is if it has a weak contact while in use you would most certainly kill your diode.:(

Ah... some of these are actually one way connectors.

I wasn't too worried about soldering heat, just interchangeability, but heating and wicking off solder isn't that hard. And one of the main reasons to do it is a dead diode, and that won't feel anything.

Since I'm investing in a Kryton as a host, I had a vision of maybe asking if I could buy more heads and have it interchangeable, but it seems it would not stand up well to that kind of thing.
