diode help

can some one help me on this i just got my dvd burner from newegg there looks to be to diodes? what one is it that i need this is like my first one trying to take it out of the sled,if there is any one who can take this out for me im me i dont want to mess it up

here is the diode i got from newegg is this the diode i want or the other diode?

This is the IR diode.
To remove the diode from the heat sink, using a looking pliers clamp on the edge of heat sink, cut the thinner part of the heat sink using a hacksaw and then use another pliers to break the heat sink apart.

ok i just got the diode out now i have to make a driver what resistor do iuse 3.0 ?

Just to be clear the red diode is the one on the right hand side in your picture. You first remove the mylar, then remove the glue from around the base of the diode. Then carefully pry up on the diode and it will come out. You do not need to do any cutting of the heatsink to remove the red diode.
