I just saw this products being sold for ~$135.00
I thought it would be the ideal hobbyist's starter
bench top setup for restricted work space...

Here is a C/P of the specs....

We Just Made Space On Your Bench!

  • Digital multimeter!
  • Regulated power supply!
  • Temperature controlled soldering station!
  • RoHS lead-free soldering compatible!
  • Everything all in one unit!
  • Factory assembled & tested, ready to go!
Anyone who has worked with electronics knows the hassle
of dealing with various bulky devices needed to get the job done. This brand new
3-in-1 lab kit gives you the most commonly required tools in one amazing compact
package!

Great for your home bench, where there's just so much space to go around!
For the school or technical institute that needs to equip multiple benches with
the basics, the 3-in-1 lab can't be beat! Not only for size and efficiency, but for
cost as well!

Take a close look! On you left is a multi-function 3.5 digit digital multimeter. Its
large backlit LCD display can be seen from anywhere on your bench
while you're working. The DMM also features built-in transistor, diode, and continuity
testing, data hold, and audible alarm. A great DMM that any bench could benefit from.

Next up, the regulated lab DC power supply. Switch selectable ranges of 3V, 4.5V,
6V, 7.5V, 9V, and 12V provide a continuous duty current of 1.5 amps with a 2 amp
peak! Features both overload protection and overload indication. Full size color coded
binding posts are provided front and center for connection to your project under test.

To the right we have a high quality temperature regulated soldering station. One
would think there's not much to say about as soldering station but not the case here.
The 24V low voltage iron features an isolated ceramic 48 watt temperature controlled
element. Front panel control gives you variable tip temperature control from 150 deg C
to 450 deg C (300F to 840F) and LED indication of power-on and heating-on. A pull-out
tip cleaning sponge is conveniently located right up front. And unlike stand alone soldering
irons, a protected iron holder/stand is attached to give you a convenient place to store
the iron without the possibility of burning yourself! It gets even better... this soldering
station is RoHS or Lead-Free compatible! What does that mean? Lead-Free solder
requires a higher melting and flow point and requires the soldering station to maintain
that temperature throughout the soldering task. Just set the temperature for the higher
temperature (typically 350 to 400 deg C) and this station is designed to maintain that
temperature. Replacement tips and irons are also available.

It gets even better! While the 3-in-1 lab is a multi-function unit, each component is
electrically isolated from each other and utilize separate power supplies for the ultimate
in safety, circuit protection, and reliability! The DMM features its own battery supply to
keep it totally isolated from the AC supply!

What's included? The 3-in-1 lab, high quality test probes for the DMM, 9V battery for
the DMM, solder sponge, spare solder tip, AC power cable, and a comprehensive user
manual. It simply includes everything you need to get started!

I don't have one so I can't attest to any of the above specs
but I can't see why the specs would be off...
PM me for more info....
(I am not selling them...)

PM for info? Why not just post it? Also this should probably be in the deals & discounts section.

The soldering station looks fairly decent but you need to watch out for how much replacement tips cost, and if they will still be available in the future. This is one of the benefits of buying from a more well known company or an iron that uses tips from one of the big name companies.

As I stated in the 1st post... I'm not selling them...
I decided to put it in this section since members building
from the Tutorials or doing Repairs could use a nice
All-In-One test/tool like this...
Yes... spare Soldering Iron tips are available and you get an
extra spare one with the unit as stated in the 1st post.

Also as I stated above... if you want more info... just PM me.

Why couldn't I have bought this instead of all that stuff separate? You should've showed me 6 months ago Jerry! Still thinking about looking into getting one

Haha I know, I just wish you did know about it then. But I'm glad I see it now, would be a very good investment for anybody who plans on building lasers for themselves

This would be really tempting if I had room for it at school.

I need to find a really good soldering station though. ><

Didn't you read the description? This thing is to optimize maximum room savings! It's 3 In 1 small package!

Haha I'm kidding of course, if Your living In a dorm, I couldn't imagine trying to have all my laser crap in there, I barely fit mine In my own room

Imagine harder, I succeeded in just that, and I have more than 10 HeNe's to start with. Only the argon lasers and the modelocked YAG aren't in my room.

The multimeter isn't even autoranging and can be bought for like 4 euro here and would be smaller.
That "regulated lab DC power supply" is can't even supply the voltage you want, only some presets. No settable current limitation or voltage readback. It's a fancy AC adapter put in a case, can be found on ebay for less than 10 euro (and it would be smaller).
The soldering iron looks decent, too bad the rest comes with it at a too high price. I bought a similar soldering iron for 30 euro. This makes the individual parts worth 45 euro tops.

Looking around me, just here sit at work (not mentioning home and car :p :D), doing a 360 degrees turn .....

pc ..... dmm ..... soldering iron ..... "pile of tools" ..... big dmm ..... 12V soldering iron ..... rcl bridge meter ..... smd "tweezer-style" dmm ..... dyi dual psu ..... soldering station ..... desoldering station ..... dyi high current psu ..... old dmm ..... gas soldering iron ..... another pile of tools ..... case of tools for external assistance (with his own set of dmm, soldering tool and assorted tools) ..... psu ..... back to pc (not counting the other various mess around :p :D

Perhaps i don't need that compact station, perhaps i need a damn bigger room :p

Anyway, it's probably a good starting station, for hobbysts and peoples that don't have space
