AS the headline states I need some help with my CNI, Viper 75mw laserpointer from Dragonlasers.

For me, this laser was "broken" before I found this forum, now it gave me hopes once again.

The thing that happend with it was that a friend of mine pushed the button too hard, or in some strange direction while holding it down. The button got stuck inside the laser and I had to disassemble it. I did this with success and I presume that I didn't damage anything inside the laser.

(the color loss that you see on the laser comes from extensive-usage ^^).

Back to the issue. So, I put it back together, with the button in place once more (note, I was very carefull), I then noticed that the "klick" sound that you get when pushing down the button was gone, and the laser was not responding at first. After a couple of "pushes" on the button, the laser started for a little time and then it stopped. Just like there was a loose wire that was barely touching the power-source :p.

I disassembled it once more, only to find out that the white "button" part of the driver was not responding or had any resistance when you pressed it down, it would go the way gravity wanted it to.

If anyone here can give some intel in how to solve this problem for me I would appreciate it a whole bunch!

Uploading pictures so you all can see what I'm talking about if my English ain't good enough =). (I hope they are clear enough for you to see what is needed to be seen).

Thanks in advance!

btw, the other laser you see in the background is the "Aurora", I love the solid build of that one =).

EDIT, added another picture of the backside of the driver aswell.

The button may be damaged but also, hard pressure on the button can put stress on the pump diode connections. You can run it outside the case using clip leads to connect power for testing..

I tested to have an metalic object to lead the power for the laser (bypassing the button?). And it was working as it should. I'm pretty much sure the problem is the button and the button alone. But I've got no idea how to cope with it.

Maybe someone here has a spare switch. Do you have a soldering iron? You will need a small one. I'm going to look for an old driver board which may have a switch.
Is your switch the narrow one with two legs?

I think my English is fooling me a bit here :p. How the hell can a switch have legs? :p
I guess the "switch" is the 'big' white thingy on the driver-board?, in the middle of the driver itself :p.

I do have a soldering iron, not a small one though, but I guess that can be arranged.

Early day tomorrow so I gotta hit the bed for now. Good night and thanks for showing interest, awesome <3.

You need to replace the button (switch). The "legs" are the part of the button sticking down and soldered to the board.
