I'm pretty new to lasers, and hoping to get at least a little more experience before i attempt anything like this, but it's a fantasy. My old cellphone has an LED torch that I can turn on & off using the phone. I was wondering, if I were to succeed in yanking off the cover protecting them (sounds like a job in itsself tbh) could I measure Volts, Amps & Resistance and then unsolder the LED and put in a diode driver w/ a diode and have it shoot a laser beam, or would it be more complicated than that?
If it is that simple i'll go ahead and do it, but are there any complications I should be aware of? I know that when applying heat poses the risk of melting some of the sillicon and stopping the phone working, but it's a risk i'm willing to take I guess.
If it's possible, tell me in as much detail as you can (be bothered) what I would need to do. Will post pictures of the phone or give any information you need if necessary.
