cant get a proper reading off my dummy load

I know i have my dummy load hooked up right so im wondering if i got the wrong parts, 4 1n4001 diodes with a 2 watt 1 ohm resistor

Place the DMM in parallel with the one ohm resistor and make sure its set to VDc 2000. 1 mv = 1 ma. Does that help? also make sure all the diodes are cathode to anode... and facing the right way otherwise current can not flow.

Does it look like this? Are you measuring it there? Is your DMM set to voltage (1mV = 1mA)?

See the diodes.... they must be in this orientation...otherwise the current will not flow. Please take a pic of what you have and we should be able to work it out from there.

thats the pic of the test load. i connect a positive battery lead to the spring on the driver and the - battery lead to the case ground heatsink then i measure over the pot.
what setting should my dmm be on?
