Can I remove the switch in a flashlight laser mod and make it have momentary switch?

My airsoft gun has a lot of room in the barrel and so I want to put a laser in there. I was thinking if I can unsolder the switch on it laser, add longer wires, and solder on a momentary switch so that it will reach the trigger of the gun, it would work. Thanks for all replies I get and also I know this is a weird question and that it may look ugly with two wires sticking out but I don't really care.

Tough question without pictures of the gun and existing switch...

As long as there is room, it should be doable, but it also depends on what type of switch you have, and if it is needed for other functions for the gun??

As long as I am able to swap out the switch to the laser, it will fit. However after close inspection I realized it woul be a tight fit. If I don't want a host, do I only need lenses, diode, module, driver, switch, and batteries? I think I only need the heat sink from the module because it will only be on for a few seconds at a time.

If your talking about a green module, then the driver will be attached, lens as well. (normal green module)

In that case you just need a 3 volt supply. (heatsink for the module is best)

If your putting a 445 diode or other, then you need, module to house the diode, lens to collimate, heatsink, driver, supply voltage depending on what driver/diode...

Here's a good place to start:

I want to build a blue laser. I was thinking I can buy a blue 445nm 2w blue laser module on eBay for $100. Then connect a driver to it(I don't no which one, if you could tell me which one would be best. And specific ma for it. Or amps, I don't know.) then add a long wire to a a switch and battery.( Li-ion batteries) it would work. Thanks.

Ok so you now have to see what kind of room you have in your host for a battery supply...

If you have room for an 18650, then you can go with a boost driver. If you have to use 2 X 14500's like I did in my phaser, then you can also use a boost driver if you use the batteries in parallel, or you can put them in series and use a buck driver.

The main thing is figuring out what kind of room you have to work with...

I have lots of room and so I can fit nearly anything. Which do you recommend and which driver?

If you have room for 2 X 18650's, I'd put them in series and use an X-Drive buck driver from lazeerer.

If you only have room for a single 18650, I'd go with a boost driver...
