Can anyone tell me what type of laser this is?

At first I thought maybe this could have been a New wish laser, but I don't think it is. I disassembled it as it was pretty cheap off of Amazon (5mw). Now before anyone may suggest this, no, I absolutely did NOT open it with hopes of pot modding as I am well aware of the consequences and stupidity in doing such. I don't even think it has a pot. Amazon did not list a brand, but I'm rather curious, as the body was incredibly sturdy when I tried to open it. Any ideas? My apologies if I posted this in the wrong section, I'm new to this forum. Thanks everyone!

Here is the body. The module is not press fit into the cap, but rather the body where the cap encloses it.

I remember reading about this host somewhere, but since that was months ago I completely forgot :(

The only parts I remember are that this is a standard, mass-produced chinese pen, and the name of the host was something around JD232. But once again, not 100% sure.

Yes, this is a violet laser. For such a cheap laser, this was magnificently built. Do you think this body could be reused to host another laser? I can't seem to find laser bodies anywhere, and if anyone would know where to get a module that is stronger than 10mw but less than 50, that would be great. I just don't want to find one too strong otherwise I'll bite off more than I can chew.

DealExtreme sells some 532nm laser modules. I searched over the website and found a 50mW unit for $16, which may be of interest to you:whistle:

Wow, thanks everyone. The DealExtreme one looks pretty nice, but just how trustable is it?; I've heard many stories of bad things that have happened when ordering from that site...

Some people have really good luck with DX. I was one of those not so lucky ones. I won't buy from there again unless it's life or death... And even then probably not.

Would anyone know of a laser body with a button on the back? I know it exists, but I don't know what brand it is. You all have been a great help so far, thanks!
