Just moved and finally unpacked my Nova laser X-Series to test it out. Unfortunately it no longer is working. It is the pen style black with brass.

Will someone suggest a green laser module I could replace in the host unit that will not require to much micro soldering (I can solder, but not the best).

Need to see if it is possible to find parts for this Nova Laser (based on CNI).

CNI might sell you a new module? Some of the members here have had more dealings with them than I have, they may be able to confirm that.

Doesn't hurt to contact CNI I guess.

Might work out cheaper just to buy a new pen if you go down that road...

Another option would be to see if someone can fabricate an adapter that would let you use a more common 12mm green module in that host.

Agreed about just buying a new one.
I just purchased a Dragon Laser 532nm 55w to replace.

Thought I'd ask to see if there are parts available to repair these pen type lasers...or maybe i'll just use it for parts.

You mean 55mW;)
I can't tell from that pic if there's anything special looking about the pen. Some of us love pen builds so that's why it is of interest to me. Sure looks simple enough. It looks to me like that the front end to where the button is is quite short. I bet the guts from a Fasttech 1AAA pen would fit into it with a bit of work if it was worthwhile although they are really nice just on their own. From my experience most put out at least 50mW and I've tweaked some to over 100mW. These are one of the greatest bargains out there:

https://www.fasttech.com/products/1620/10000264/1030000-5mw-532nm-stars-light-show-green-laser-pen

I just ordered 2 new units that they carry that also run on a single AAA that they claim are 50mW and not only have the star cap but are focus-able and I'll report on them when they arrive:

If you want a full size module that about half can be tweaked for over 100mW then you want the following although these are much longer and won't fit in that pen:

https://www.fasttech.com/products/1620/10001030/1088900-new-wish-5mw-green-laser-module

https://www.fasttech.com/products/1620/10000626/1057303-5mw-532nm-green-laser-module-3v-119mm

ALWAYS use BLF for a slight discount (I think 5% on most things).
