Is it as simple as I think?

Take a blue ray laser for example, all you need is a diode, the driver (which is really just a current regulator) and hook the diode to the driver and the driver to some bateries.

Is it that simple, or am I missing something?

sounds about write, just test ur driver first with a dummy load, and after its set thin hook ur br diode up to ur driver and put it in to a host of ur choice.

But you need the diode in an Aixiz module... for heatsinking and focusing. Then there's the housing which is really up to your tools and creativity!

And remember that if you are making your own driver there is some manual labor needed. For example, I started making a red burner, and my circuit just doesn't work. I've checked all the components, and new batteries, and everything, but the circuit just doesn't work, so now I'm stuck!

however, I did complete a blu-ray successfully!
