Bran new 100mW module... dead because backwards battery?

So I just got my module in the mail yesterday.

It is an o-like 100mW green.

I bypassed the button on it, I put it into my heatsink, then my host.

And it worked. It was really bright. I got it to smoke my wallet, but I couldn't get it to light a match.

But I took my host apart, to take some pictures of the module in the heatsink, then when I put it back together, I was so excited that I wasn't paying attention to the battery (I am using a trustfire 3.6v 123)

After it was all together, I realized that it wouldn't turn on. So I look, and thats when I realized that I put the battery in backwards. I turned the battery around and now it wont power on at all.

Did I really just kill my module by accidentally putting the battery in the wrong way for one second ???

My other green laser, 20mW, I put the battery in backwards all the time. And It just wont turn on like that, but it doesn't ruin the laser.

I can't get this thing to turn on at all now. I had it working for about 2 hours.... yeaaaaahhhhh :cryyy::yabbmad:

Is there anything else I can do to test if this thing is dead, or am I just screwed over that tiny mistake?

Well, those LiIon batteries do have a lot of current..... I'd dissasemble it though, take it out of the host, and make sure.

I thought one of my 593.5 pointers was dead for about a day - it wasn't. Are you sure that the battery isn't depleted? Reverse polarity could drain it real fast, too. Try everything, even the obvious, before you declare it trashed.

Yea,
I tried the other fresh battery that I have.

I also pulled it out of the host, and checked to make sure the bypass to the switch was still looking good.

Then I removed the bypass to the switch and even tried to power the module with the side switch.

Its not looking good. Pretty sure its dead.

At least next time I know not to get so excited that I stop paying attention to what I am doing... lol
