Hello,
This is my first post on this forum, although I have been reading for a while. So I have been starting dabbling with this hobby, and I have a question which I'm sure verges on the "beginner" difficulty. I ordered some inexpensive parts online to mess around with and need help testing a basic driver, before I mess around more expensive materials. How would I test the current of a driver to make sure it correctly corresponds within diode (how would I assemble the circuit)? I have 1ohm resistors, multimeter,LEDs, soldering iron....

Thanks in return,
Kenny

Here is a good link for making a driver but you are interested in testing it.
Mid-way the article there is a test load diagram. You can make it easily with some diodes and the 1 Ohm resistor.

Laser driver - It can be done

ANd welcome to the LPF forum !

Welcome to the forum! You might wanna post a self-intro in the Welcome Section as well as update your personal info (most important is your location) so we may tailor our responses to fit your situation as best as we can.

As for testing your driver, you've been given 1 link, but it's not all. Try searching "test load". You'll get quite a number of threads that will help you further or explore it in more detail. Also, if you would like to order a ready-made one (since they look nicer and possibly be more convenient), one of our members are selling it in the B/S/T section. Check it out here.
