So I've pretty much built a laser, but the only problem is, the beam isnt focused. If it helps, I'm using a dorcy jr for host and I have my diode in an Aixiz module. (btw I tried searching and didn't get much =/)

You can focus the laser by turning the black "lens nut" in the front of the AiziX module in or out.  Yours may or may not have a silver "focus ring" attached to the front of the black lens nut.  Depending on how far you pressed the diode into the AiziX, you may have to remove the focus ring from lens nut to be able to focus it.  Some of them won't screw in far enough with the focus ring attached.

If you have to remove the focus ring, you may have screw the lens nut completely out of the module to grip the back of the lens nut. If you have to screw it out completely, be careful. There is a spring under the lens nut that you need in there to keep the lens "tight"

Peace,
dave
