Hi, me again. I got a new laser, but the battery compartment is too wide. and too long. it's gotten so bad that the laser frequently cuts out, I tried stuffing a small bit of aluminum foil into the cap, just enough so that it stops cutting out, and that seems to have crushed the spring a little, because now it came back and it's even worse, now the laser needs to be perfectly positioned to work when the foil chip isn't in, and when it is in, it's as bad as it was.
How can I fix this?

Why do lasers hate me?

Hard to give an answer without seeing pictures of your laser and the issues, but tail cap springs can easily be 'stretched' to make them a little longer...

Also, depending on how 'loose' your battery fits, you can make a sleeve out of the plastic from a Pepsi bottle. The sleeve can be only 3/4 of the way around the battery and still stay in the compartment...

Or, is can wrap 1 1/2 times or more, if you need to take up more room. Other materials are thinner.

I was at Burger King today and they were out of normal straws. They gave me this huge blue straw that is normally for their oreo cookie shake or something. That straw went into my building supply box of stuff. Because it would be perfect for making such a sleeve as I just described. (only a thinner material)
