Default B3603 Step Down Driver as A 1W laser driver ?

Is this a good idea, just wondering. Has anyone used a buck converter this way ? I guess startp spike would be a problem if there is one.

The current limit is pretty horrible on those types of devices. Don't use them for laser drivers.
