i'm planning to build a 1 watt burning laser for a school project and am looking for some guidance. i need to know if the parts i am planning to use will work together and if there is anything i should know. i plan on using this diode

808nm 1000 mw high power burning laser diode 1 watt | eBay

with this housing

9mm diode housing with glass lens for red laser or 808 nm laser [OL9mm] - $7.20 : Welcome to O-Like.com, Your source for laser products

and this driver (i found this elsewhere on the site :thanks:)

do i need a heat sink for this build? if so, what is adequate? is there anything i'm missing or not taking into account? this is not my first electronics project, but it is the first time i've used a diode this powerful. i have all the safety equipment already laid out so don't worry about me blinding myself. thank you in advance.
