It all depends on how you are using it...

No pics... No clue..

This has already been discussed in a few other threads..
Aluminium foil cannot be used as it is impossible to eliminate air bubbles in between the layers of foil.. and air bubbles keep IN heat rather than getting rid of it.
The best heatsink you can make without any tools is probably a piece of copper pipe which fits as snugly as possible around the laser, filling any gap with a mixture of aluminium powder and thermal paste.

Yeah, in order to wrap it that tight, you'd need to exert a lot of tension on the foil which would rip it making it useless. Get a bar of copper, and drill out a hold just big enough to slide your host in.

This reminds me of Beavis and Butthead's tv antenna hehe

Of course it will work, it just won't be very good. You need a reasonable contact between layers (no need to get all the air out). To get rid of trapped air bubbles, maybe punch some needle holes through the layers.

Considering that I'm currently using paper wrapping :shhh: to hold the Aixiz within the host, that's a definite improvement suggestion.

Dave please read my post it was as close to anything that I had as far as creative humor today. At your expense I might add... I was in a rutt today.

I look DAMN good for my age!

Also, you should notice that I am not even being harassed by any aliens here. The hat is obviously working :tinfoil:

Peace,

^If you were to post something useful (eg. something not yet mentioned), your post would have been okay. But your post didn't say anything new, so it is classified as NECRO! It's a bad thing on this forum :tsk:

So this post you have just posted is totally useful. :shhh:

Technically, it is no longer a necropost since Cube posted a few minutes after yours. Consider that a friendly reminder.

I've always been a fan of friendly reminders. Friendly PSAs, not so much. But a friendly reminder, now that's great.

^That's why I deleted my message and PM'd him. There is no advantage for me in this, I didn't get the extra post for my post count because I deleted it, I am just trying to help out the forum.
