Hello everyone, I'm working on a 1 Watt 445nm laser and I'm planning on using a copper module over the standard one. However, I've been experiencing difficulties concerning the way the module fits in with the lens. Now with the standard module, everything fits perfectly fine, but with the copper head, the lens will only screw in to about one rotation and then stop as if it were stuck. I'm confident this is the module's fault as I have tried various standard acrylic lenses and the three element lens, and none seem to fit in with this one module head. Is there some sort of trick to this or do I have a bad module? I'm sorry if this is in the wrong section or if it was asked before, I've searched for an hour and a half with no results - I'm hoping someone here can shed some light on this. Also, I'm short on money, I'm wondering if the copper module head is actually necessary for this, I think it may be since I know that 1 watt diodes can heat up very quickly, but it would be better if I heard it from the experts. Thanks!
