This will probably be one of the shortest tutorials out there :crackup:I bought a few FMP3s and wanted to make them more interchangeable since I dont like to solder things over and over again, so got an idea to use some old junk to accomplish that.

If you have an old motherboard lying around that you dont use for anything you can use some of the pins for some FMP3 modding ^^ By soldering these pins to every input and outlet it will be very easy to swap the driver or use it elsewhere within minutes.

I only have a few pictures of it to show, but from those it is easy to see how its done.

That was about it :na:

Edit: Caution! If you place pins on the LD as well, as I did, make sure it is a tight fit so they wont come off by accident.

Great idea! The only place that I would not recommend using any sort of quick-release connector for is the laser diode connection. I can't tell if you used a header there or not, so that's only potential constructive criticism. Otherwise this is pretty sweet!

I used it for the LD as well, but bend the pins slightly towards each other so it is a very tight fit, but I can see your point :)

Edit: Even without bending anything they fit very tight. Same as when they are placed on a motherboard, you have to pull hard to get it off. Almost as if the FM was made for this hehe.
