Question 9mm NDB7875 445nm blue laser as 1st DIY laser

I got myself a Nichia NDB7875 445nm 9mm,set in a 12mm copper module with 405-G-2 glass lens. It's driven with a X-drive V6 buck set to 1.8A. Powered by 2x Tenergy 18650 3.7v 2600mAh Li-ion with protective PCB. The host is a Sky-Ray SR5. This is my 1st DIY laser,I didn't know the V6 driver needed at least 5v to kick in. Right now,I have 2x18650 taped together and ordered 4 18350 with a charger. I should be able to fit 2x18350 into this small host withouth use of the greatest multitool ever made, tape. The diode is rated 2.5-3W output 2amp max

As it is,it lights up great. Having a fun time burning stuff and lighting up at night time . My question would be,is there anything else I can do to make the beams stronger? ex;burning faster, longer range, brighter

What other host can I use with a big heat sink and will fit 3x18650 or 4x18350,since I already ordered those.

I'm a noob and ANY kind of input would be appreciated

2d/3d mag would give you a pretty decent heatsink. Plus there are already threads on here about modding them, so it shouldn't be too difficult to do.

Yup try a new driver at 2.1A You wont notice much difference though, in terms of beam visibility...

The LD is rated 2A max, wouldn't a 2.1A driver fry it?

2 A is recommended max, but I have seen quite a few builds at 2.1 A and some have even driven them beyond 2.2 A... There's no guarantee of course...!

Thank you guys.
Is there any other options as far as lenses go. Any benefits or drawback from doing so?

Man I shure hope you have laser glasses And yes a 2 to 2.1 amp driver should be just fine. That is a nice heatsink but the host needs to be replaced or maybe a extension tube to fit 2 x 18650s.

But of course,im a noob but it's the first thing i ordered. Ok,maybe not the first but already had it when i 1st turned on laser. I was actually thinking about making an extension for the host. Rather get a bigger host and bigger heatsink instead.
