Ok, so I bought a laser pointer that is <500mW and states it can easily burn TONS of things. I can't even feel it when I put it on my hand.

Laser link: CLICK HERE

As a side note I am using a battery from a old laptop (around 5 years old win vista) tried 2 of the batteries. They work to power the laser up and it seems bright so I dunno if its that but I am getting other batteries from lazerpoint soon.

That is not a reputable source nor is it a 500mw. Probably 20mw I am guessing. $30 isn't going to get you 500mw. Check out jetlasers, laserbtb or post a wtb here.

Beam profile says standard 660nm diode to me. Best Guess is 150-300mW.

It's a red laser. You're not supposed to feel it on your skin.

Twist the head of the laser so that you change the focus of the beam, so that it is converging to a point not far from a laser.

Put stuff in focal point. Et voila, your laser now burns.

And yah it's probably not over 200mW actually.
